Immediate Dentures

Immediate Dentures

Immediate Dentures are made on-site in our clinic and laboratory. Our clinical dental technician will take an impression of your existing natural teeth and gums and use the impression to make a new denture prior to your tooth extraction appointment with a dentist. Patient can pick up the denture and have it inserted by the dentist immediately after tooth extraction.

Immediate dentures serve several purposes:

  1. Patients don’t have to go about their everyday life without teeth
  2. Protect the extraction sites
  3. Aid in healing process
  4. Help the patient adjust to eating and speaking with new dentures

Patients who have immediate dentures tend to adjust to wearing dentures quicker than patients that choose delayed denture treatment where patients have to wait for 6-8 weeks for some gum healing before having a denture made.

After insertion of immediate dentures, it is recommended that the patient arrange for soft reline/tissue conditioner appointments over the next 6-12 month to stabilize the denture.

Our immediate denture range are priced the same as our complete denture range with the additional cost of $420 per denture for a reline.

Temporary Immediate Dentures

Temporary immediate dentures are intended to be used for only about 12-18 months. Temporary immediate dentures utilize teeth of lesser quality and they are significantly cheaper, but at the end of the year a new denture will have to be made at full cost. Temporary immediate dentures are suitable for patients who are concerned about the aesthetics of their complete dentures.

Permanent Immediate Dentures

Permanent immediate dentures are intended to be worn by a patient for the full lifespan of the denture. The materials and teeth used are of higher quality so that they will last during that time period and more time is taken to replicate the appearance that the patient wants.
