Cast partial dentures are the more preferred and the most reliable type of partial denture. The advantage of cast metal partial is that the metal framework is created to adapt precisely to the contour of the mouth and helps ensure that the denture will fit as closely as possible to the oral anatomy. Cast partial dentures are also lighter and less bulky in the mouth compared to acrylic partial dentures because of the strength of the metal frame. There are two types of cast partial dentures: Titanium and Chrome.

Acrylic Partial Dentures

Acrylic Partial Dentures are more used temporarily for aesthetic purposes rather than function. These dentures are made out of high impact acrylic with embedded hooks/clasps (in some cases) that engage onto existing teeth to keep the denture in place.
